Last National Leaguer To Win The Triple Crown

Today's baseball trivia question:  Who was the last National League hitter to win the coveted Triple Crown?

Hint to today's trivia question---He was a St. Louis Cardinal who did it before World War 2.

Answer to the previous trivia question below---The home run-hitting pitcher was Ken Brett of the 1973 Philadelphia Phillies.  He hit a home run in four consecutive starts as follows:  On June 9th he homered off Bill Greif of San Diego,  on June 13th, he homered off Charlie Hough of the Dodgers,  on June 18th against Ray Sadecki of the Mets, and on June 23rd against Tom Walker of the Montreal Expos.  Philadelphia won all four games in which Brett homered.
Ken Brett passed away in 2003 of brain cancer.
